i’m nostalgic (but i wouldn’t know what for)

‘i’m nostalgic (but i wouldn’t know what for)’ is a duet for clarinet and piano, written in 2020.

I thought of the romantic paralysis you sometimes get when life hasn’t been on your terms. The soft obsessions that might not define you but certainly find you. Although finished in April 2020, it owes its life to November 2019.

The piece features difficult polyrhythms in the piano part, but is otherwise not especially virtuosic. Please let me know if you’d like to perform this piece, or have it rearranged.
