’12 Bars for Maddie Glover’ isn’t even a piece, just a snippet. It was written as a joke, meant to give a solo opportunity to our trumpet player. It does give a good sample of my big band writing, albeit a little informal and humourous. It was written for big band, plus extra keyboard, solo flugelhorn, and flute.
